Jewelry Care Instructions
We craft all our jewelry from high-quality materials designed to last. And like anything meaningful, our jewelry is worth taking care of. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about materials, sensitivities, and how to keep your piece looking its best. With just a little care, your jewelry will stay beautiful for years to come.
Materials
All Salt & Light jewelry is made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. It is a durable, water-safe material that resists tarnishing and wear. Some styles include an optional 18K gold finish that is applied through a high-quality electroplating process that won’t flake or rub off easily.
For our graphic jewelry, we use a shatterproof, liquid-glass dome to seal and protect the design. We do not use stickers or paper elements.
Allergies & Skin Sensitivity
Our stainless steel contains minimal nickel and is generally safe for sensitive skin. But if you’re nickel-reactive, we recommend choosing one of our 14K or 18K gold-finished pieces, which are even gentler on the skin.
Care Instructions
Our jewelry is water-resistant, which means it’s safe to wear in the shower or while swimming. Just be sure to dry it thoroughly afterward to keep the finish looking new.
To clean:
Use plain soap and water, then gently dry with a soft cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners or polishing agents.
To store:
Make sure the piece is completely dry before putting it away. Store it separately from other jewelry, especially pieces that may be tarnished, to avoid transfer. Keep it in a dry place and avoid humid environments like bathrooms.
While wearing:
Avoid direct contact with cleaning chemicals or harsh substances. And as with all jewelry, remove it if you expect heavy contact or physical impact.
