Everything we make at Salt & Light is created to be worn, used, and loved for a long time. Like anything meaningful, our products are worth taking care of. Below you'll find care guidance for each of our product types, including the materials we use and simple ways to keep your pieces looking their best.

Jewelry

We craft all our jewelry from high-quality materials designed to last. Here's everything you need to know about materials, sensitivities, and keeping your piece beautiful for years to come.

Materials

All Salt & Light jewelry is made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, a durable, water-safe material that resists tarnishing and wear. Some styles include an optional 18K gold finish, applied through a high-quality electroplating process that won't flake or rub off easily.

For our graphic jewelry, we use a shatterproof liquid-glass dome to seal and protect the design. We never use stickers or paper elements.

Allergies & Skin Sensitivity

Our stainless steel contains minimal nickel and is generally safe for sensitive skin. If you're nickel-reactive, we recommend choosing one of our 14K or 18K gold-finished pieces, which are even gentler on the skin.

Wearing Your Jewelry

Our jewelry is water-resistant, so it's safe to wear in the shower or while swimming. Just be sure to dry it thoroughly afterward to keep the finish looking new.

Avoid direct contact with cleaning chemicals or harsh substances. As with all jewelry, remove your piece if you expect heavy contact or physical impact.

Cleaning

Use plain soap and water, then gently dry with a soft cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners or polishing agents.

Storage

Make sure your piece is completely dry before putting it away. Store it separately from other jewelry, especially pieces that may be tarnished, to avoid transfer. Keep it in a dry place and away from humid spots like bathrooms.
